Painted Creatures

My name is Brooke Rose. I am 18 and I am in my senior year of high school.
I love makeup and photography. This blog will serve as my public journal as well as a place for me to post makeup or photography I find inspiring or I create myself. I am also using it right now to get school credit. If you have any tips or suggestions please don't hesitate to leave something in my ask.
Ask me anything and please enjoy!
Thank you!

Guess where I am… School! It’s far to early to be alive let me tell you. I am not by any means a morning person so having to be here and communicating with other human beings isn’t really going so hot. Also, I feel like what I just wrote doesn’t make any sense.

I’m here today to let people know that I have to present my senior project on Thursday. It’s Monday. That means I have 3 days, that’s it, just three.

Que the tears.

Anyway, like I have said in posts before this, I am doing a photo shoot with 5 people they each picked a theme, etc, etc…. I’m sure you get the picture. I still have 2 photo shoots to do out of the 5. I have had the whole year to do this, and i’m doing 45% of my project 3 days before my presentation. What is my life?

~PROCRASTINATION~

Seriously, senioritis for the win.

More of an update later when I can actually remember what I was going to write about.

My senior project includes a lot of stuff, I picked the models, the locations based on their themes. I make sure I get the information I need from each of them, I find the costumes, and create each makeup look, and on top of all that I don’t just take the pictures, but I want to! I love creating everything myself, and knowing that I am putting all I’ve got into each project. I am proud of how well my photos turn out and how much fun I have while doing it. I am glad this shoot is turning out better than I ever even imagined. I can’t wait to show all of you my final product.

Just looking up some motivational posts to help my brain out. I really have gotten far. 12 years of school and I have passed every singles one of them. DAMNNNNN :)

So sense the last time I posted quite a few things have happened. I did finish Sierra’s shoot and ended up with some really great shots that I am really proud of. I also did Athena’s shoot which turned out even better than I thought it would. :) I am really having fun watching my imagination come to life, it’s and unbelievable experience. The E.L.F makeup competition I entered is still going on but I stopped focusing on it as much, mostly because….my computer had it’s final days not to long ago.

As far as the other photo shoots go I am really stoked on them all. Noa’s is almost ready to go, I have a mirror she can break and a baseball bat she can use. Maybe I should get goggles so her eyes are safe…hmmm. I just need to find the perfect location, I have been thinking the old airport but that’s all blocked off and I don’t want to get in trouble. Maybe Jada would let me use a place on her property. ~Location needs to be found.

Mathias’s shoot will be done next week later in the week and I don’t really need to figure anything else out for that because it’s fairly simple. Zombies, wut wut? Just make the lighting creepy and the makeup creepy… his room is already naturally creepy, silly boys.

Now as far as Tangerine goes I need to find a good location… I’m thinking the NID ditch up behind the school on a fairly nice day and then later that night. I should look up some pictures of Gargoyles and their two-sided nature. The more I understand about them I think the smoother the shoot will go and I won’t second guess myself.

It’s officially March meaning only 3 more months of high school. I’m freaking out, and stressing out and just trying to save my ass from not graduating. I would have never seen myself in this position, but I believe I can pull through. Hopefully.

This is so stunning.

Bianca Balti by Ellen von Unwerth for Vogue Italia February 2013.

Such a stunning shoot. Even if it makes very little sense it is good at drawing in peoples attention. The vibrant colors and gorgeous lady really just make it a super interesting shot.

Hmmm no one ever mentions this great tip to get the original smokey eye. Here you guys go. ;)

Nude lips is quite a thing these days and Athena(anxiety shoot) has mentioned her interest in collaborating nude/chapped lips into her look. I totally love this idea and so I am going to use a very pale powder and primer to make her lips look dried out.

Zombies! (Mathias’s shoot)
I got my zombie makeup I ordered, and this one is going to look so wonderfully creepy. I think that for him I am going casual-zombie, just chilling in his room doing what he does best….Video games, all day ‘ery day. The lighting that I am wanting to use is candle light. So I need to go and get a huge bag of tea-light candles from the dollar tree or something. I want the lights to flicker on his face and just make the atmosphere as spooky as possible. Maybe even have him snacking on some nutritious brains. YUM.
